Description
Betamethasone Sodium Phosphate Injection is a potent synthetic corticosteroid with strong anti-inflammatory, anti-allergic and immunosuppressive properties. It is used where rapid steroid action is required to control inflammation, allergic reactions and immune-mediated conditions.
Mechanism of Action (MOA)
- Enters cells and binds to glucocorticoid receptors
- Modifies gene transcription
- ↓ Production of inflammatory mediators:
- Prostaglandins
- Leukotrienes
- Cytokines
- Stabilizes inflammatory cell membranes
- ↓ Migration of immune cells

Precautions
⚠ Use carefully in:
- Diabetes patients
- Hypertension
- Active infections
- Peptic ulcer
- Kidney disease
- Osteoporosis
Avoid sudden withdrawal after prolonged therapy.
May mask signs of infection.
